With All Its Riches

*edit*
this was started a day after and was not completed due to technological difficulties.

I just got back from Rome yesterday and it was a SUPER short trip but I had A TON of fun.

Thanks to my beautiful classmates :)

It has been half a year (OMG SERIOUSLY I didn't realize this till now!) since I saw them and I sure as hell missed them. :) Specially those two lovely Mexicans :)

We walked A LOT, ate a BUNCH, saw TONS and this trip would've been different if they weren't there. I was SUPER comfortable hanging with them :D I wish we did this earlier :(

But here are some stuff we saw and did :)

Trevi Fountain

Vatican City at 8am

Met two southern Italians with the same names
they were super funny too :)

Threw a coin into the Trevi and had Gelato

Roman Ruins

There's more but I'm a little lazy to put them up haha.
Either way, Rome has stolen my heart.
Wait, then again, I've said this with like every place I've been so far.
SHEEET -.-

More on Rome later. I am going to write my papers now. :)

Weekly Dress: Oh No!

GAH
I'm so bad at this.
I'm 2 days late this time. GAH

Sorry sorry sorry SORRY!

I was away and had no means of uploading pictures from my iTouch onto the blog so I didn't :(

MEH. I'm sorry!

But this week, I'll be talking about mixing eyeshadows.
Blending them more like.

Recently, I've been finding myself to have to seriously stretch my stuff. I have to bring my make up with me on the go so I can apply it before I get to my destination and because I have a tiny purse/bag, I can only put SO much in it. Results, me having to pick and choose what to bring so I can mix and match.

So, in my make up stuff, I only have this

The palette on the right

and

this

and SOMETIMES this to work with.

Somedays when I'm lazier, I just apply the brown...
Here's how you can apply a single color

1. You use your 2nd last finger and swipe the eyeshadow so you get a solid enough layer on your fingers. How solid depends on how dark/thick of a layer you want it to be on your eyes.

2. Starting from the lashes, you put your finger horizontally and you wanna brush your fingers side to side, working your way UP towards your brow bone. (if you missed my tutorial on how to put make up, click here, I explain)

3. Note, you will see that it gets lighter and lighter as it hits your brow bone. You DON'T WANT to add it more to the top. You wanna KEEP it like this so it stays.

4. USUALLY, I put eyeliner so my eyes pop. But this is optional. The trick to doing this is you start from the inside of your eyes and work your way out. do it stroke by stroke, then you're less likely to mess it up :)
Thing about eyeliners, if you want one or are planning on getting one...
NYC products are cheap but their eyeliners are not bad. It's thick but be careful, they smudge. So what I recommend is applying a layer of eyeshadow (similar to the color of your eyeliner OVER the layer of eyeliner you drew. It's less likely to smudge.
If you don't mind paying a bit more, you can go to any brand of cosmetics you like and ask for recommendations. I would recommend asking for one that doesn't smudge easily for pencils. Liquid ones however, is tricky. I've not used many brands of liquid ones but the dolly wink one I showed you above is the best. It dries fast upon application so if you have double eyelids, the don't print on the top.
If you're in Malaysia, you can find them at Sasa. In the US, you're likely to get it a Japanese store. :) Like Mitsuwa or something :)

On another note, when I decide to use both the palettes and the brown, here is what I do:

1. I apply the brown as the base, again working my way up as explained above.
Edit: you can get a 3 colored palette and just use the darkest color in the palette for this.

2. Then, I take the blue (its a mildly sparkling one) and starting from the end of my eye, working my way inwards gently and stopping in the middle. You only want to get a little where you can still kinda see the color of your skin. Then blend. The blue kinda makes your brown stand out, bringing out the color in your eyes.
Edit: if you have the palette, this would be the middle color.

3. I take the silver and apply it on my brow bone and shade it in with the base shadow. I also apply this on the little area next to my nose (where your eye boggers usually lay) when applying this, you wanna only apply it on the softest area and ONLY A LITTLE.

4. Optional, eyeliner! Bottom lash and upper lash ;) Bottom lash optional as well.
When you apply eyeliner, apply a layer on the water line. Pencil liners usually work best and on skin, liquids are bomb.

I shall talk about my trip soon :)

I will do my best to keep up next Friday!
Promise :)

Late Nights, Long Talks, Missed Moments

So I've been slacking with this.

It's so bad.
I'm a horrible blogger.

Eitherway, let me do a mini update.

Last night me and a few of us went to this bar called the Dou Jones Bar *click!!*.

Can ya see what I'm about to talk about..? OH YES. The prices of drinks fluctuate depending on the crowd!
It was super cool. I spent so much time in front of that screen, I never ordered shit. HAHAHA.

I made a LOT of attempts to take pictures of the screen but much to my despair. All came out blurry. :(
So none uploaded of the screens. But here are some of us:

Toni singing hehe.

Steven Manila and Toni.

Gizerika! :D

Left (Ochocki's friend Johnny from NYC) Middle (Ochocki) Right (Me).
So oddly posed cause I was sitting facing the back and had to turn for the picture.

Walked in the rain with soaked feet. Tremendous way to end my night right..?
But!
When I got back, 2 lovelies greeted me on skype. Kay one greeted another I thanked which led to a discussion.
Boy did those two make my day.
I love them to bits. Made me stay up till almost 5am just talking to them.
So worth it cause end results:
Tired Kim + Coffee =
Overdose of mystery energy from lack of sleep + High Pitched Voice so I've been told.

Anyway. Had classes and after the last one, decided it would be awesome to venture on my own. So I did and found myself in front of the Casa Batllo by Gaudi. Perhaps just my favorite architect. Paid 14 euros to get in. He's worth it. Reasons why:

he used nature as inspiration

he makes the buildings lower cost of maintenance by
designing them in a way that minimizes electronic energy and
maximizes natural energy

intricate and delicate, he was very detailed.

he used LOTS of colors giving the buildings different colors at different times of the day

it is as if you were one with nature again.

I got a teeny bit emotional when the audio guide talked about his death.
I was sad.

I love Gaudi's work. Damnit. Spanish artists. Dali, Gaudi. The other two, Picasso and Goya. Soon. Soon.

as for my friends, I can't thank you enough. Those in Ecuador, Soka, Malaysia, Japan and Spain.
I love you all. SO MUCH. Thank you.

Weekly Dress: Leggings

Sorry its a day late...

But today we're talking about LEGGINGS.

Yes. The infamous pant like stocking things you USUALLY wear like the picture below.

BENEATH your short skirt/ dress/ shorts.
On colder days when you have no more pants but need to stay warm...
They do the trick.

HOWEVER.
Being in Spain, I've noticed SOOO many people just wearing them AS PANTS.
Wearing them as pants alone is FINE.
Also, leggings that DON'T look like leggings
(you prolly wouldn't be able to tell the difference much in some cases) are fine.
But when they're super thin like or when you can tell they're leggings
and people wear tops that fall way above the privates area...
*gag*

Why is that so weird, you ask?

Simply put,
NOBODY WANTS TO SEE YOUR COOCH!

OMG. It drives me CRAZY every time I'm walking down the street minding my own business, some girl with her leggings only outfit pops up and yeah, she's pretty and whatever but OMG. The leggings are so thin, you can hear the cooch screaming at you.

So people, today's weekly dress advice, leggings are meant to be worn under something. Under a longer top (which can include tank tops, T shirts, OVERSIZED sweaters, boyfriend shirts, etc), skirts, shorts.

JUST COVER IT UP.
Even if you're down to show the world your jems, a lot of us aren't. So yeah :)

Some pictures of how you can look classy with leggings.
Trust me, I'm JUST starting to appreciate them.
PS- they make good long johns/ long underwear (whatever you call it)

See how the privates are covered up?

The middle one you can't tell they're leggings cause they're THICK enough.

Loving these leggings by the way

If you're in HOT + Humid climates
Use stockings instead or look for leggings that are thin and/or are made with cool material
Look for rayon, linen, silk, cotton.
As a rule, you wanna stay away from Polyester.
It's like walking with a mobile oven in your pants.

Hope this helps with your weekly dress!

The Grim Film ♥

This video is AMAZING.

Barcelona = Beautiful City

In the past few days of my stay in Barcelona (which translates as beautiful city), I've done some exploring with a dear friend. If it wasn't for her, I think I'd leave Study Abroad thinking this place was just a piece of nothingness. This laziness derives from my not knowing how to explore.

Anyway... I've seen quite some beautiful things and I would love to share it with the world.

Those were the Labyrinth Park and
this A was near the other UB campus that was near the park

The next day....

I went to La Sagrada Familia with my friend Katie (SOKA alum who now studies in Ireland).

LOVE the stained glass.
Bee tee dubs: It costs about 10 Euros to get in and go up with Student ID!

the ceiling. Beautiful.

Shiny organ left me awestruck.

This is the famous fountain of Las Ramblas. :)
Drink the water there and you'll go back to Barcelona, granted. HAHA

This was in La Catedral de Barcelona.
It's currently under construction, some parts of it.. But lookie!
Geese! :) HEHE

It was super cool.

The following day, we visited the famous Castell de Barcelona.
(Castle of Barcelona)

the view from  one of the four corners.
Felt super awesome to be standing so close to the edge.
There were no glass walls or barriers and it's a LOOOOONG fall down!

view from corner 2.

corner 3. there was a cliff beside where she was standing.
Lose your balance, lose your life.

The castle itself.
We couldn't really enter.

This was back down.
This is super pretty in the day. :)
Before boarding the Metro and when people were looking at me funny cause I was yelling
"Me voy a la cama!"
("I'm going to bed!")
Hey, I was tired okay! -.-

The following pictures are a series of 2 days.

Day 1.
We hopped on a metro and decided to go see the big colorful building that looks like a vibrator:
It's called Torre Agbar.
Its super pretty at night when it's lit up.

we call it the rainbow/ colorful/ peacock vibrator.

Then we went to this nearby market and I saw this!

I want me a typewriter! :(
Upon exiting, we decided to have coffee at the nearby mall.
And look!

The Greenwich line!
It was my lucky day.
Know why?
We walked summore and saw this:

A bull fighting ring
They don't actually do it anymore but it was just as awesome to be in front of it.

But since we didn't know where else to go, we took the metro back to Catalunya
Boy I was glad. We saw this fountain I've never seen before and I liked it a lot.
But after bumming around, Veronica told me she's never visited Parc Guell so off we went!

The view from...

up there. (see where the people are standing?)
This guy was really odd by the way.
Jumping, screaming playing the guitar with such force he broke a string. HAHA

More of Parc Guell.

After climbing up god knows how many hills.
The sunset was beautiful.

Day 2:

Went back to the same area where the Torre Agbar was.

Got on a tram to a place called

Meaning kisses in Spanish.

Other stations on the way.. Cool, no?

When we got there, we were disappointed.
There were these stars,

interestingly shaped buildings and a highway. HAHA
Then we got on the next metro to La Sagrada Famila to catch the night view of it;

The reflection on the lake was gorgeous.

The little catholic church beside it.

All Gaudi's work.
Parc Guell was also his work!

I think I'm really gonna miss this when I go back.
And I really have Veronica Ortega to thank for this.
If it wasn't for her. I would've stayed home everyday.
So, Veronica, if you're reading this...
MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS :) HEHE
